I have even tried going through Windows Update Tried MANY times. Even tried Manually doing it. Wont Install. However you should know that installing drivers from random places could contain malware or viruses. If you followed the setup instructions on the installation CD, you should be ready to use your device. When you connect a controller to your computer, it is assigned a specific quadrant that glows green to indicate the controller's number and position.

After a while I found that my crucial mistake had been that I from the Update Catalog had downloaded the driver version with "x86" architecture instead of "AMD64". And because I have an Intel processor, I therefore selected the bit "x86"-download by mistake, instead of the bit option correct in my case. So, when I did eventually download and install the AMDversion of the driver from the update catalog, everything with the installation went smoothly and afterwards the device has been working great, just like it should be I have legit given up on my adapter.

About a month ago, I wiped my computer and the adapter hasn't worked since. I have tried everything this thread has talked about. Still no luck, Windows 7 professional is really getting on my nerves.
