This year, as reported, I have had a "world" of problems with getting my shifter to work properly thanks to some really observant friends I found that problem and will report on it in a later thread , yet I still managed to not carry this with me on the trike.
So, thought I would share what I got. I purchased a really cheap aluminium handled fishing dip net and cut it to size. Once I got it cut, I took a pair of vice grips and flattened one end which I then drilled a 1" hole in that would fit over the bikes rubber shift lever.
Once drilled I dressed it up a bit with a couple layers of electrical tape so as to keep it from digging into the rubber boot shift pad. After I slip the lever over the rubber boot of the shift pad, I than will use a zip tie that I will secure around the top of the Pingel and let it serve as a collar for the shift lever which will help to keep it in place as I need it.
My hope is, however, that I will no longer need it as I believe the problem has been fixed. Best to have a fall back plan just in case due to the many miles I ride solo. Just an FYI.
Of course you can pick a color that YOU like to dress it up. Tags: None. Necessity is the mother of invention. Well done! Forums New posts. Showcase New items New comments Latest reviews.

Thread starter hayabusaPuertoRico Start date Apr 26, Hello Im installing pingel electric shifter and there is 4 brown wires that have to go with a negative wires that are located it in the coil. I dont know nothing about mechanic and electric but i want to do it myself. Where are the coil located? It is very grippy. This is my progress to date. I need to trim the hand grip rubber more because sometimes I hit the turn signal paddle instead of the shift switch. I would trim the grip rubber more, but, being a heated grip, that would entail cutting into the heater wires.
I have ordered another grip which I will position with the shifter in mind. JPCollinsworth and SmittyBlackstone like this. Arbolmano , Mar 23, Joined: Feb 1, Oddometer: 1, Location: Commiefornia!
Lots of work but anything to keep riding. I would only use clutch for starting out mostly. Power shift the rest of time. It worked okay until I got the cast off anyway.
Not really very safe but operational. Spring has sprung! Time to ride. Keep up the good work Tonto. JAJA , Mar 23, Why did you install the shifter button on the Clutch side?
Shift up at partial or full throttle and back down with the push of a button! Down shifting is also achieved by a push of the downshift button. Clutch use is required for starting and stopping only. Suited for Sport Bikes, Drag Bikes, Customs, Cruisers, and Touring Bikes, these kits are also the perfect match for male and female riders who own bikes that require a lot of hand strength to pull in the clutch lever, typically found on H-D models.
OEM shifting ability is retained even after installation. Pingel Electric Speed Shifter kits include a dual button handlebar control, a shift cylinder plated with a lustrous chrome finish, bolt-on shift cylinder support bracket and the state of the art control module which sends a quick and reliable signal from the button control to the shift cylinder without any delay. Also included is the ignition kill module which momentarily interrupts the ignition coils, and step-by-step instructions with photos for easy installation.
