Rdr gx7 firmware update

Anyway I know that the firmware on it is not the most recent. It's running 1. Sony don't appear to have transmitted an update for sometime for it. However I am fairly sure they will say it's not possible to update it that way.

Therefore in anticipation that they will refuse to send me the update does anyone know where firmware for this machine could be found? Any help much appreciated. I too have the similar problems with my machine crashing - please let me know how you resolve it. What's a split NIT type issue? A split NIT was when the freeview Network Information table grew too large and was split into two tables. Some equipment needed an upgrade to cope with it.

Do you find your gets part way through tuning and crashes and restarts? Sony claim there is no issue and tell me I cannot manually update the firmware as I expected! Out of interest what firmware version does your have? Thanks again - I'm running the latest version ends in 03 Factory reset, retuning didn't help much. I might try giving it a free flying lesson over the balcony next!

Last edited: Jan 11, Sony UK claim there is no way for me to update the firmware. I've made over DVDs so far. BTW, where were your GX7s made? I've heard the made in Japan ones are better. Pinetop, Mine IS made in malasia. Not sure if there's anything I can do with it. I would think if I had the latest firmware from a Japanese model it might fix the cannot play disk error.

They say their x8, and they are. Prior offerings said x8, and were x4. Anyhow, I tried these and they do work in my GX7. I would not hold my breath waiting for Sony to offer a firmware update. Looks like you guys will be trolling for old crappy media. If you have the service documentation, it should have a recommended media list.

You can take it to the media list on this site and expand your universe to all of the media with the same mediaIDs and then troll the net and the clearance tables at retailers until you find a supply of something that is supported.

I don't think your SONY recorder uses a standard PC compatible drive so unlike with commodity recorders you can't swap it out.

But certainly you should check. Perhaps the drive is something used in a PC which might be firmware upgradeable in a PC or at least swapable.
