Treo and windows vista

However, I just tried installing my Treo PalmDesktop software for synchronization with Outlook, and have discovered it to be a problem. Although the Palm Hotsync manager seems to install OK the Hotsync logo appears in the task bar, and a message stating that the Palm Driver was installed successfully appears , attempts at Hotsyncing result on nothing happening - I hear the connection beeps as the Hotsync starts, but the Hotsyncing window does not come up, and the Treo screen eventually displays the "unable to connect" error message.
I was previously able to sync the Treo with Outlook on a Windows XP platform, so I suspect it is Vista that is causing the problem. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance for any help, CM. Cunning Man , Jun 11, Messages: 1 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 1.
I'm in the same situation. Although my Treo device driver install fails. This probably wont help if the driver installation faild but I got my T3 to sync with Vista by putting Hotsync in backwards compatibility mode to run as XP SP2. The mobile device do not appear in any place in Device Manager.
So consecuently when I open the application Windows Mobile device Center, the mobile device is not connected. I am supposing the problem are drivers. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. If this is a known issue, please let me know. Best Regards Victor G. This thread is locked.
